A little bit about me…
My name is Ashlynn and I have a passion for helping others find balance again within their health & healing journeys. I am currently a registered nurse working in maternity and I was born and raised in Southern California. I decided to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner after years of battling my own health struggles.
After high school I found myself diagnosed with hypothalamic amenorrhea (basically my thyroid was not underproducing the hormones I needed for a monthly period). For 2 years I was told everything was “normal” and was only offered the birth control pill as a fix to my diagnosis I sought out many opinions from multiple doctors and was only offered the same solution. I was confused, disappointed and knew there had to be a “root-cause” to what I was experiencing.
Fast forward another year I came across a couple of resources that made me realize the chronic state of stress my body was in. I then made some nutritional & lifestyle changes to heal my body from the inside out.
Due to the hormonal imbalances I had pushed to the curb for several years I found myself struggling with uncomfortably digestive symptoms. Again I sought out medical advice and was only offered the solution of taking Miralax daily. Again, I felt utterly defeated and knew I was only putting a Band-Aid on what I was experiencing. I then jumped back into doing my own research as well as worked with a Naturopathic Doctor to get real answers. I was then diagnosed with SIBO (Small-Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth).
After working on my gut health and digestive healing I knew I wanted to help others who were battling similar things.
Health and nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated or confusing. I believe there is a balance that can be found in both medical care and integrative/functional medicine.
I can’t wait to walk with you through the nutritional therapy process as well as help you feel empowered as you take your health back into your own hands.
A few things I love:
Anything outdoors (hiking, horseback riding, tennis, long-walks, etc.)
Coffee (I have only nursing school to blame for this)
Making homemade sourdough
I couldn’t live without avocados & peanut butter
Jesus (Literally the reason I live and breathe. He is my strength and the reason I am so passionate about caring for people)
Country music, time spent with my family/friends, staying active & the sunshine (a true SoCal gal).
